 Four-Way Test Awards

Essay Contest

The Woodridge Rotary Club, in conjunction with Rotary District #6450, sponsors an annual essay contest to Woodridge students in grades 6 through 8. The theme of the essay is "How Can I Apply the Four-Way Test to My Life?" The Four-Way Test has been used by Rotarians for over six decades as a practical ethical yardstick to apply to their business, community, and personal affairs.

The criteria of the Four-Way Test consists of:

1.  Is it the Truth?

2.  Is it Fair to all concerned?

3.  Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?

4.  Will it be Benefitial to all concerned?

The Rotary Club of Woodridge awards the winning entry with $100 and the representative school with a $100 award presented in the name of the student.

Four-Way Test Citizenship Awards

The Woodridge Club also works with Jefferson Junior High teachers each year to select a young man and young woman who most exemplify the Four-Way test in their personal and school relationships and attitudes.

The Chairperson in charge of Service Projects for the Woodridge Club is the primary contact for the essay contest and usually presents the awards.
