2020 Service above self Scholarship application

The Woodridge Rotary Club is pleased to offer two $2,000 Service Above Self scholarships.

•    You are a graduating senior.

•    You are a Village of Woodridge resident.

•    You will attend an accredited community college, trade/tech school, or four-year college or university during the 2020-2021 school year. •    You have at least a C average grade point average.

•    You have participated in community service activities and done so over several years’ time.

The Rotary Club is looking for students who have made a difference within their community by enriching the lives of others, especially those-in-need; therefore, applicants demonstrating participation in community service activities and volunteer work will carry more weight.  While school and church activities are important, volunteerism throughout the community will score higher points in many cases.  An exception to this would be a church mission trip to do physical labor for others.

  • The application can also be printed by clicking here. Applications can be completed, scanned, and returned by email, or they may be mailed.

  • The application may be typewritten or printed.  If you choose to print, please do so legibly so that the Rotary Scholarship Committee can give you full credit for all that you submit. Use extra sheets as necessary and list your name on each.

  • Be sure to explain the volunteer activities in which you have been involved.  Do not assume that the Scholarship Committee will know the entity that you name.  Explain exactly what role you played in the activity. Don’t forget to attach your Letter of Recommendation.

Applications should be submitted electronically or via email to Pam Dubé at pdube@woodridgelibrary.org, or be printed and returned by mail or in person to Woodridge Public Library, 3 Plaza Drive, Woodridge IL 60517 by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020. Please mark the envelope as “Rotary Scholarship.” Unfortunately, no exceptions to the deadline can be made.

Please contact Pam Dubé at pdube@woodridgelibrary.org with questions regarding the application.
