The Woodridge Rotary Club Reaches Out to Serve the Community During the COVID-19 Pandemic
In appreciation for the frontline healthcare workers who have made sacrifices during this pandemic, the Woodridge Rotary Club delivered a hot lunch to the Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital staff in the ER and ICU departments. The lunch was catered by Rich Moore, a club member and owner of Shanahan’s Restaurant and Pub in Woodridge.
This was to express a BIG thank you to the frontline healthcare providers. Your dedication and commitment aligns with the Rotary's motto” Service Above Self."
Mary Onorad, Woodridge Rotary Secretary, has been busy making face masks. Mary produced 30 face masks for a nursing home, Shanahan’s staff, and family members. The masks provide some level of protection and are lined with removable micro filters from sweeper bags.
The Woodridge Rotary Club has also supported the West Suburban Food Pantry with a monetary donation to help Stock The Shelves.
“We isolate ourselves so that when we get back together, no one is missing."
